It is miscible with a broad range of solvents, including water, acetone, and chloroform. In general, glycols are non-irritating and have very low volatility. Uses of Tech Grade:

It is an important raw material for the production of unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, plasticizer and surfactant.
It is used as plasticizer of alkyd resin and ink additive.
It has excellent bactericidal properties and wettability, and can be mutually soluble with many substances. It is the solvent of grease, paraffin, resin, dye, etc. In senior antifreeze, it is used as wetting agent and dissolving agent.
In the paint industry, propylene glycol has a low freezing point, can be mixed with water in any proportion of the characteristics of its mixing with water can greatly reduce the freezing point of the paint as a whole, enhance the anti-freeze performance of the paint, so often used as an antifreeze In the paint, can make the paint at 0 degrees without freezing.
